On Thursday 23rd July 2015 Nationwide Building Society staff members came to the N&LR to lend a hand as part of their corporate volunteering scheme.

As the weather had cooperated this week, the task set for the day was to sand & paint the three entrance gates, thus transforming the look of the N&LR entrance.

The aim was to repaint the gates to give the appearance of level crossing gates. As can be seen in the photographs this has been spectacularly achieved, just in time for the Vintage Gathering event taking place a couple of days later.

Many thanks to those who took part in the day.

N&LR members are encouraged to suggest tasks that could be done on one of these days: It just needs the person making the suggestion to be involved with the implementation, such as sourcing paint, gloves, brushes etc.

If you have a suggestion or want to get involved with these days, please get in touch with Grahame Every who is the person coordinating these corporate volunteering days.
